STEVE HARRIS BRITISH LION

 STEVE HARRIS BRITISH LION

Genre: Hard rock

For Fans Of: Iron Maiden, The Who, UFO

About: British Lion is the side-project of Steve Harris, best known as bass-player and main songwriter for Iron Maiden. In 2012, Classic Rock revealed that the project originated with a band named British Lion, whom Harris had been mentoring in the early 1990s. After the original band split up, Harris remained in touch and eventually began writing songs with them. After several years of work, due to Harris being occupied with Iron Maiden, an album of songs was released under the title 'British Lion', which Harris now considers "more of a side-project" than a solo record. Stylistically, he says the record is "more mainstream rock than metal, very British sounding, very 70s-influenced and quite commercial, but good commercial. There's all kinds of stuff going on, with nods to The Who and UFO and some classic British rock bands".
