International Whisky Day & Alice Robbins EP Launch!

A brilliant and local line up is coming to Acoustic Rooms on Monday 27th March to celebrate International Whisky Day and the fabulous Alice Robbin's launch of her new record, 'Hope is a Waking Dream'! 

We're bringing the whiskies with loads of drink offers and Happy Hour prices all night! We can't wait fo this one! The music line up starts from 8pm and is as follows:

22:30 - Alice Robbins (EP Launch)
Alice is a Nottingham based singer-songwriter who makes sweet calming acoustic sounds. Taking from the music of Laura Marling, The Staves, Jeff Buckley, Ryan Adams and Feist. Her fingerstyle guitar lines and soft vocals presents uplifting melody's to songs of self discovery with melancholic heartbreak. On record, atmospheric piano chords and swooning cello lines break up the regular ‘girl with a guitar’ thing. ‘Hope is a Waking Dream’ will be available to buy on CD on the night alongside a performance of the record in full. She has supported Angaleena Presley at Bodega, performed for sold out Sofar Sounds sessions and a variety of out of town shows including Gwdihw (Cardiff). Physical CD's of her upcoming EP will be available on the night.

21:45 - Rory Cannon
Rory Cannon is a local Nottingham musician creating moody acoustic music, after the success of his first EP 'Lies' he toured the UK and created a small following which led to his work with the record label Animal Farm which will be realising three singles with him in the following months. Rory has been compared to artist such as Roo Planes, Ben Howard and Nick Drake. Using percussive, finger style guitar playing and guitar looping to create his sound.

21:00 - Dan Wright
Dan Wright kick started 2016 by releasing his debut EP 'Lyrics on a Postcard' all tracks inspired by his world wide travels, it peaked at number 11 on the iTunes songwriter chart and received great reviews from the local music press. Dan Wright's style is indie/blues with every song telling a story straight from the heart. This EP is just the start for the young songwriter. Dan has been playing live around the UK for the past 4 years, and previously played at many festivals around the Midlands. He has also opened for acts whilst they are on tour such as Nothing but Thieves and Catfish and the Bottlemen. 
His creative lyrics and strong vocal performances keep audiences coming back for more!
