From the loins of bands like Pavement, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, St Deluxe and Teenage Fanclub come Yuck.

The music press has been fascinated with the band since their formation in 2009. Bizarrely Blink-182 member and toilet-joke-expert Mark Hoppus tweeted to fans how he couldn’t stop listening to tracks like ‘Get Away’, ‘Shook Down’ and ‘Milkshake’; all of which they self-released. This (as well as fairly frequent touring and appearances at South by Southwest) has helped them gained them plaudits in the US with Pitchfork and other publications.

During the summer they’ve been racking up the festivals with appearances at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Primavera Sound and Bestival. They’ve also got to play with some of their heroes in recent memory: Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Dinosaur Jr, Teenage Fanclub, Modest Mouse and Built to Spill.

If you were at The Bodega during Dot to Dot in 2010 or indeed one of the lucky few that got to see their Stealth show, then you’ll know what these London-based slackers are all about.

* Rescheduled show. All tickets for the original show remain valid. *
