Here at The Rescue Rooms we’re excited and honoured to have The Lemonheads play classic album ‘It’s a Shame About Ray’ in it’s entirety.

While the Boston band’s ever evolving line-up has featured members of Dinosaur Jr, Black Flag and The Descendents one member has remained constant: Evan Dando. The charismatic frontman became something of an alt rock celebrity in the early nineties (famously ‘hanging out’ with Courtney Love and befriending Oasis) and has played with everyone, from the aforementioned Mancunians to Sneeze, MC5 to The Dandy Warhols and more…

While the title track is retrospectively considered one of the greatest of the nineties, it wasn’t until the release of their ubiquitous cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Mrs Robinson’ (released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Graduate) that the album gained the recognition it so richly deserved.

Please don’t miss out on this chance to see one of the classic albums of the nineties performed in an intimate setting.
