Beat The Streets: Rescue Rooms Talent

It goes without saying that Nottingham is one big melting pot of musical talent. As luck has it, we have three members of Rescue Rooms bar staff in three incredible bands… who all happen to be playing Beat The Streets today!

First up we’ve got Bloodworm, hitting us hard with their charming gothic punk-rock energy reminiscent of 80s darkwave. With an addictive shoegaze-esque moodiness surfacing every time they play this isn’t a set you want to miss jamming out to. This year they’ve supported the likes of Opus Kink and The Lounge Society, playing Rock City Beta last year to a jam-packed room. It’s always a tight squeeze as they consistently play to sold-out crowds so make sure to get down nice and early! Catch them play the Rescue Rooms main stage at 4pm.

Next we have Airport Dad, championing their self-proclaimed ‘alt-dad’ vibe. Their latest single released last year’ I Wanna Cry’ puts you in all the feels with its dreamy sound and powerful effortlessly cool vocals. 2023 saw the single gain airplay on BBC Radio 1 introducing with Gemma Bradley as well. Have a listen to them live at Rough Trade from 8:30pm

Last and definitely not least we’e got unique pioneers of all things groovy with a splash of grittiness. Otala. Spoken word, post-rock, freeform jazz and post-punk all formed into one – it’s a completely fresh musical experience. It would be a shame to ignore the artistry at play here. Find them at The Bodega at 9:30pm.

So what are you waiting for? Pop on down to listen to good tunes and raise some money for charity with us!
