French The Kid is only 21 years old and already he has achieved great amounts in the UK drill rap scene. The Kid grew up in Romford Essex on council estates and then spent his early teens in the South West of France. This is where he was exposed to the French hip-hop scene: his biggest influences. The duo PNL, Marseille rappers Jul and SCH mixed with North African sounds had a strong impact on The Kid’s voice. As for his other influences he says “my top three… 50 Cent is my first. The Black Keys? And third, Jimi Hendrix. It’s a weird one.”

In 2018, he released an Instagram freestyle which set the bar very high. His fans have supported him greatly since day one, some of his freestyles have got over 13 million views. He is a breathe of fresh air with his refreshing take on rap narrative. His bilingual ability adds a certain crisp element to the game as well.
